Move Across Troy

As you may know, safely walking across Big Beaver Road is no easy task! With traffic exceeding 50,000 vehicles each day, the limited opportunity to cross restricts access for residents and the business community to the many dining and retail options that line the corridor. This experience has encouraged the City of Troy to explore alternative, best practice pedestrian technologies to help everyone move within the city.

The Move Across Troy initiative hosted the Big Beaver Symposium to bring together intellectuals, business stakeholders, residents, city council, state and county officials, and staff to discuss pedestrian mobility options to be implemented in future planning decisions. The overview of these events can be found in the links listed under the Resource tab on this page.

Any questions or comments can be addressed to and updates will continue to be posted here.

Study findings and funding opportunities were presented to City Council at the January 12th, 2015 special study session. The Plan and presentation can be found under the "Resources" tab to the left.
