Troys Summer Sensation Concert Series Returns

The Troy Summer Concert Series is back! Boulan Park on Crooks Road between Big Beaver and Wattles Roads will be the backdrop for some fabulous music on select Thursdays this summer. Stay after work, grab a bite to eat and listen to music from 6:30-8:30 pm. Bring lawn chairs or blankets and relax with friends as a variety of music fills the air. Food will be available from Food Trucks starting at 5:30pm and there are plenty of picnic tables. The series is sponsored by Beaumont Hospital.

July 14: Mainstream Drive with General Dogs & Living Foods to Go Food Truck

Mainstream Drive is a six piece cover band that has been performing all over the Metro Detroit area for more than eight years.  This DYNAMIC group performs music that will inspire you to get up and dance!  Their popular or "Mainstream" songlist ranges from Today's Top 40 Bombshells to the Best of Motown, and even your Classic Rock favorites.  Mainstream Drive's wide variety of cover music selections are enjoyed by ALL generations of audiences.  The band members combined have over a centuries worth of professional experience and strive to create a festive and fun atmosphere.


July 28: The Groove Council

with General Dogs and Pita Post Food Truck

The Groove Council celebrates its 10th anniversary this year.  When you put Kathleen Murrays powerful vocals over a smokin rhythm section and layer on a 4-piece horn section, you get a delicious blend of classic soul, blues, and R&B that makes every gig a party.  The band is a favorite at area festivals and local clubs and this April, theyll be opening for the Temptations at Andiamos in Warren.  The Groove Council was named 2011 Detroit Music Award Outstanding R&B Artist/Group and nominated again in 2012, 2013, 2014, & 2016. Singer Kathleen Murray has earned Detroit Music Award nominations for Outstanding Blues/R&B Vocalist for the last 6 years.

August 11: Thornetta Davis

with General Dogs and TBD Food Truck

Thornetta Davis is a Detroit Blues, Soul and Rhythm & Blues singer who has opened for Bonnie Raitt, Gladys Knight and Etta James. She sang backup vocals on Bob Segers album, The Fire Inside, has worked with Kid Rock and Alberta Adams, and has released two full-length solo albums. In 2014, Thornetta Davis performed at the Concert of Colors in Detroit with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. At the Detroit Music Awards, Thornetta Davis was voted Outstanding Blues Artist in 2004 and 2006, and Outstanding Blues/R&B Vocalist in 2004, 2006, 2010, 2011 and 2014.


August 25: Big Will and 360 Degrees

with General Dogs and Pita Post Food Truck

After performing over 4,500 gigs as the front man in one of Detroits top bands The Sun Messengers, William Elijiah decided to follow his dream and have his own band. Big Will & the 360 Band is a group of multi-talented, experienced musicians that match Big Wills unparalleled stage energy and share his vision to give the audience a visual experience while enjoying outstanding musicianship.


We are so excited to bring back the Troy Summer Concert Series at a new location - Boulan Park, Community Affairs Director Cindy Stewart said. We appreciate the support of our concert series sponsor, Beaumont Hospital, and invite everyone to come out for some fabulous music this summer at one of Troys largest parks. The concert series is yet another fabulous activity for people of all ages to enjoy this summer along with great programs at our Library, Community Center, Historic Village and Nature Center.
